Who we are

The Toolbox (thetoolbox.online) is operated by 18300275 Canada Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean 18300275 Canada Inc.. The site is in English and is written by Ali.

The site has no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter and nothing for sale. It uses analytics, advertising and affiliate links. This page explains what that means for your data.

What we collect

  • Anonymous usage data. Which pages are visited, how long people stay, which links they click, roughly where they are (country or city level), and what kind of device and browser they use. This comes from Google Analytics and does not tell us who you are.
  • Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, handles every request to the site. Like most web servers, it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Your email, only if you write to us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use it only to reply.

We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we do not sell anything on this site.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site, and the companies listed below, use cookies to count visits, show ads and track affiliate referrals. Some are set by us (first-party) and some by other companies (third-party).

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies (such as_ga) to tell visits apart. We also record clicks on links that leave the site, including affiliate links, so we can see which pages are useful. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you.

You can block Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and other third-party ad vendors use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to show ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Ads may be personalised or non-personalised depending on your settings and where you live.

Amazon Associates and other affiliate partners

Some links on this site are affiliate links. We take part in the Amazon Associates program, and we also work with other affiliate partners such as VPN providers, hosting providers and SEO tool companies. When you click one of these links, the partner (or the network it uses) may set a tracking cookie so it knows you came from us. If you buy something, we may earn a commission. The partner's own privacy policy covers what it collects. See our affiliate disclosure for more.

How to turn off cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block only third-party cookies. The site still works without cookies, but ads may be less relevant and affiliate partners may not know you came from us.

Links to other sites

This site links to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before you give them any information.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep data and how we protect it

Google Analytics keeps usage data for the retention period set in our account, then deletes it. Emails are kept only as long as we need them to reply and keep basic records. We use reasonable safeguards, such as limiting who can access our accounts, but no method of sending or storing data online is completely secure.

Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA)

We are based in Canada and handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Some of the services we use (Google, Cloudflare, Amazon and other partners) may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States.

Visitors from the EU and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • object to or limit how we use it;
  • ask for your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the law requires your consent for non-essential cookies, such as analytics and advertising cookies, we will ask for it before setting them.

Visitors from California (CCPA)

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, advertising and affiliate cookies may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under California law. You can opt out using the Google and aboutads.info links above, or by blocking third-party cookies. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
